Canada trip day 5: August 28, 2009

Ate breakfast in the hotel.
Drizzling.
Took the shuttle to the table rock station.
The mist from the falls is like a constant rain.
Walked along the river bank.
Bought a rain coat for Rena.
Bought tickets for the tunnel below the fall. Did not buy the free day pass (4 attractions + people mover).
Ate pizza for lunch.
Visited the tunnel. Got a little wet.
Took the bus to the Maid of Mist boat.
Got thoroughly wet on the boat.
Walked along the river bank to the table rock.
Bought souvenirs at the gift shop there: a lying wolf and a music box.
Took the bus back to the hotel. Asked the driver for recommendations for an authentic Canadian cuisine, which perplexed her. The Canadians do not think that they have a representative cuisine. She recommended a restaurant in the center of town. Took a large taxi (van) to the restaurant, which was very good.

Lessons learnt: You become thoroughly soaked by the Maid of the Mist boat, so it must be the last Niagra Falls attraction on your trip. The half-hourly bus offered by the hotel is pretty good. No need for the people mover ad the daily pass.
